Ingredients

  • 8 oz fresh crab meat
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (for frying)
  • Lemon wedges and aioli for serving

Directions

Step 1: Prepare the mixture.
In a large bowl, combine the crab meat, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, egg, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until all ingredients are well incorporated.

Step 2: Form the crab cakes.
Using your hands, shape the mixture into small, even-sized patties, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a plate and refrigerate for 10 minutes to help them firm up, making them easier to fry.

Step 3: Heat the oil.
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the mini crab cakes to the pan, making sure not to overcrowd them.

Step 4: Cook until golden brown.
Cook the crab cakes for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until they are golden brown and crispy. Use a spatula to gently flip them halfway through to ensure even browning.

Step 5: Serve with lemon wedges and aioli.
Transfer the cooked crab cakes to a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil. Serve warm with a side of lemon wedges and your favorite tangy aioli for dipping.
