Ingredients

  • 3 eggs (as per cake mix instructions)
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil (as per cake mix instructions)
  • 1 cup water (as per cake mix instructions)
  • 1 tub of frosting (any flavor)
  • 1/2 cup melted chocolate (for truffles)
  • 24 mini cupcake liners
  • Sprinkles or edible decorations (optional)

Directions

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a mini muffin tin with mini cupcake liners. Prepare the cake batter according to the instructions on the box, combining the cake mix, eggs, oil, and water until smooth.

Step 2
Fill each mini cupcake liner about two-thirds full with the batter. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cupcakes to cool completely before frosting.

Step 3
For the cake truffles, crumble any leftover cupcakes into a large bowl. Mix in the frosting until the mixture has a dough-like consistency.
