Prep Time Cook Time Total Time Servings

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 cup frozen spinach, thawed and drained
  • 1/2 cup canned artichoke hearts, chopped
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Directions

Step 1: Preheat the oven.
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. This ensures that the pastry swirls bake evenly and don’t stick.

Step 2: Make the filling.
In a bowl, combine the cream cheese, spinach, chopped artichoke hearts, shredded mozzarella, Parmesan, and minced garlic. Mix well, adding salt and pepper to taste. The filling should be creamy and well blended.

Step 3: Assemble the swirls.
Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a floured surface. Spread the spinach and artichoke mixture evenly over the sheet, leaving a small border around the edges. Roll the pastry into a log and chill for 10 minutes for easier slicing.

Step 4: Slice and arrange.
Cut the chilled pastry roll into 12 even slices and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with the beaten egg to achieve a golden finish.

Step 5: Bake and serve.
Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and puffed. Serve these savory appetizers warm for the best flavor, letting the creamy filling contrast with the crispy pastry.
